On Tuesday Nov 1, 2011, citizens led by California State Parks Foundation marched from Leland Stanford Mansion SHP (one of the state parks currently planned for closure) to the State Capitol for a short rally to protest the closure of 70 state parks and raise awareness of the negative impacts park closures will have on California. At the conclusion of the rally, the group delivered oversized postcards filled with signatures and thousands of citizen petitions to the Governor’s office.
